SOUTH OKANAGAN

3-Mile Beach - Penticton

Follow the Naramata Rd north of Penticton on the east side of Okanagan Lake. Turn left on to Three Mile Rd just past Quidni Winery ( approx 5 km from Penticton). There is limited parking at the end of the road and beside the road next to the dog beach just south of the parking lot.

Overflow parking can be found at the junction of Naramata Rd and Poplar Grove Rd about 1/2 km before the Three Mile Rd turn-off. Total walking distance to beach from there is ~1.5 km.

Public transit is also available. Please see below for details.

Most naturists are using the east end of the public beach just before the large willow tree. This allows non-naturists to use the west end of the beach in accord with their comfort level. However, we do encourage non-naturists to join us in their swimsuits at the east end to try and break down the barriers between the two groups. It is "clothing optional" not "nudity mandatory" after all! Please keep this in mind and make the swimsuit folks feel welcome if you have the chance.

Also, some naturists continue to use the public foreshore area past the willow tree.

Public Transportation to 3-Mile

With limited parking, bus service is an option, though there is a 1 km walk from the bus drop-off point. Currently, the bus runs twice per day. Just let the bus driver know you want to be dropped off at Three Mile Rd.

People have been known to visit the following locations naked. However, Three Mile beach is the only location in the Okanagan we know of where your nudity will not be questioned. Use discretion. Also be aware, bare female breasts are legal in any public space in B.C.

CENTRAL OKANAGAN

Kelowna

We are aware of one location in Kelowna frequented by naturists...

Just north of the highway 97 bridge turn east on Pandosy St which will eventually become Lakeshore Rd. Follow Lakeshore until it comes to a traffic light where it turns right and Lakeshore Rd continues along the east side of the lake. The traffic light is the junction of Barnaby, Chute Lake and Lakeshore roads. From this junction travel 8 km to a small parking lot on the right with a sign that says, Okanagan Mountain Park. The trail zig zags 300 metres from the south end of the parking lot down to the beach. You will need water shoes if you go into the water as the lake bottom is rocky.

Naturist Hiking in the Okanagan

The Okanagan Valley and its surrounding communities, are filled with hiking locations, marked and unmarked.

ONA stresses to keep the Naturist Etiquette if choosing to practice Naturist Hiking, even though you are not in a general public location. Keep your clothes or towel close at hand. Never hike alone.

Always have an emergency plan in place, and make sure you let someone, who is not attending your hike,

know the location and estimated time of return.

ONA is proud to support Hike leaders and group naturist Hikes.
