Nature makes more space...

We are hitting the middle of July and the effects of the high waters flooding upon the valley have come to a recovery and reset mode. The city is working hard to clean up sand bags along the water ways and tourism is beginning to take its normal shape in this summer month. Okanagan Lake has begun to slip back down the valley walls, closer to her more normal location. With that the tree and brush line previously drown by the high water has reappeared, and soon after followed by the sand.

Our community at Three Mile Beach has been hard at work, cleaning up drift wood and other debris from dismantled docks and such that landed on our shore after the spring storms. We are getting ready for the season ahead to prevent unwanted beach fires from those who see a need to dirty the beach sands with soot! With the unveiled sands, so has begun the first wave of Naturist tourist to the beach. So far, besides our regular locals and BC'ers, we have had people from Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Holland, Germany and the U.S.A. Those, are our visiting regulars. The tourists make our valley their home for 3 to 4 months yearly, while exploring environment, sampling the markets and recreating in naturist locations throughout the valley, like Three Mile Beach.

Okanagan Home Stay

This spring has also brought more Naturist locations and possibilities. Reports of naturism and topless biking are still coming in from the Kettle Valley Trail that runs between Penticton and Kaleden. Though we suggest people be aware of the fire that did move through the Kaleden area in the last two weeks. Recovery and clean up may be happening still. ONA has confirmation of the Mnt Kobau park traditional naturist use in the Cawston area. We have had rumour of a Cawston location, but have yet to pin point it to share with the community. We are looking for a Cawston volunteer liaison to aid the community into the naturist tourism market to better support their local business association. If believe this is you, please contact ONA! At the other end of the Valley, Lorne and Irene with Okanagan Home Stay, a new Naturist Bed & Breakfast in Windfield, BC, are open to host your natural Clothing Optional visit when near Kelowna! With a private bathroom and back yard pool to cool off in the heat. They have created a natural location for you to feel natural, naturally!!

Saving our most exciting news to last, Okanagan Naturist Association is now a member of the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce! Our board members attended their first Business after Business meeting and reintroduced global naturism to the community with highly positive feed back from other

business members. Remember to find Okanagan Naturist Association on most Social Networks, so you can follow along and keep up with Naturism in the Okanagan Valley and Beyond!!
